A Subtle Mix of Stripes and Flowers

Flipping through my fave fashion magazines, blogs and Pinterest, I've seen stripes being paired with flowers. I love mixing patterns but this one I wasn't so sure about...so I decided to try the look in a more subtle way...a stripe top under a sheer sweater with a floral patterned statement necklace...and I have to say that I think I'm sold!

Whenever there's a new style or trend out there that you like but aren't totally sure about...I encourage you to test drive it with a more subtle approach to see if it really does work with your style! This Spring I'll definitely try taking this trend to the next level by pairing one of my fave striped tops with a fun floral print skirt!

A Wide Brim Hat and a Antique Car on a Crisp Fall Day

This past Saturday was a very fun and exciting day as my in-laws debuted their 1928 Gardner Model 85 Sport Roadster for the first time since its restoration at the AACA (Antique Automobile Club of America) Fall Meet in Hershey, PA! The car is absolutely stunning and these pictures just don't do it justice! The Gardner also won the AACA First Junior Award!! A huge congratulations!

It was a beautiful, crisp fall day...perfect for an outdoor event and a wide brim hat!!

Into the Wild...Let Nature Inspire You!

In nature, we find many different patterns that all seem to somehow complement one another...and when putting together an outfit, I like to try to imitate or reflect that same idea. This outfit was inspired by nature in many ways. The color and print of this jumpsuit by Luca totally caught my eye...and I was excited to mix and match it with similar colors and prints already in my closet, such as the scarf and purse. The key to putting together different patterns - is to work in similar color schemes as well as to coordinate the size of the actual print.

The 24 Hour Shopping Rule

While I always love to shop...there are times when I think I've fallen in love with either a piece of clothing or a purse or jewelry, and I try to take a step back and see if I'm still thinking about it 24 hours later. Today's top was one of those times. I saw it at South Moon Under, decided to walk away but then the next day, I just knew it had to be added to my wardrobe! The best part was when I went back, it had gone on sale! Score!!
