While I'm a girly girl at heart, sometimes I like taking fashion cues from the opposite sex. Menswear-inspired women's fashion can be traced back to one of my all-time favorite fashion icons, Coco Chanel. The 20th century's most important and influential fashion designer believed in a modernist philosophy, menswear-inspired fashions, and a pursuit of expensive simplicity. When channeling Coco and the menswear look, make sure all elements of the outfit are tailored properly and also add feminine touches to help ensure it doesn't look like your borrowing straight out of your boyfriend/husband's closet!
Love the oversize collar and puffy sleeves on this cream-colored jacket by Ryu...they add a vintage-y feel. |

Try a pair of tailored pants with a classic collared shirt but add a twist like this navy and gold Gracia top and a funky statement necklace.
And lastly, in the words of Coco Chanel, "In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different."
